About RDS4X

Advancing the implementation of ISO/IEC 81346 in the wind energy sector.

Our Mission

The RDS PS Wind Implementor Forum (RDS4X.org) is designed to facilitate collaboration among stakeholders involved in the implementation of ISO/IEC 81346, starting with the wind energy sector.

The operating model outlined below provides the framework for the Forum's activities, ensuring alignment, interoperability, and efficiency.

2019 -

  • TIMWind started developing RDS PS (ISO/IEC 81346, 2022) guidelines
  • Vendor support of RDS PP (ISO/IEC 81346, 2015)

2024

  • TIMWind manuals released on the APQP website
  • ISO/IEC part 101 guideline released
  • TIMWind guidelines tested with the industry
  • Connection made with relevant vendors and system integrators
  • Vendor roadmaps supporting RDS PS

2025

  • Q1: IF proposal presented
  • Q2: IF kick-off
  • SAP RDS PS supported
  • Veracity RDS PS supported

Our Core Principles

  • Transparency: Maintaining openness in all processes and decision-making activities.
  • Interoperability: Promoting seamless integration and compatibility among systems and stakeholders.
  • Alignment: Coordinating efforts among different stakeholders to achieve common goals.
  • Pace: Ensuring timely and efficient progress across the value chain.

Organizational Structure

  • Steering Committee: Provides macro-level direction and oversight.
  • IF Secretary Function: Funded by DNV in 2025.
  • Working Groups: Focus on specific areas of the standard’s implementation.
  • Centralized Document Library: Repository for relevant documents and resources.

Communication Practices

  • Annual Physical Conference: Flagship event to share knowledge and insights.
  • Quarterly Meetings: Regularly scheduled with agendas and documented minutes.
  • Use of various channels to support continuous dialogue.
  • Knowledge Repository: Curated collection of resources and implementation guides.
  • Industry Partnerships: Collaboration with TIMWind and other stakeholders.

Initial Framework

The Forum’s efforts are based on the ISO/IEC 81346:2022 standard, supported by ISO/IEC guidelines and TIMWind manuals available through APQP.

  • Vendors’ existing RDS PS support and roadmaps
  • System integrators’ RDS PS knowledge base
  • Use cases from developers, manufacturers, and operators

Uptake and Scaling

To ensure continuous improvement, the Forum will establish:

  • Performance metrics to evaluate progress
  • Feedback mechanisms from stakeholders
  • Review sessions to refine strategy

This model aims to foster a collaborative, efficient, and transparent environment for deploying ISO/IEC 81346 in the wind sector.
